Pet Tips - Why Micro-Chip Your Pet

Why Micro-chip?

Each year thousands of lost and abandoned animals are taken in by shelters and rescue groups.  Many of these animals never make it home because they can’t be identified.  Micro-chipping offers pet owners the only truly permanent method of identifying your pet and linking the animal back to you, the owner.  Collar tags can break or become unreadable and tattooing can become illegible.  So, if you want to improve your pet’s chances of getting home fast and safe in case it were to go missing, micro-chipping is your best option.

4 Reasons to Micro-chip Your Pet
  • Only true permanent method of pet identification
  • Best chance of your pet returning to you after going missing
  • Quick and painless procedure, similar to vaccination
  • Lasts for the lifetime of your pet
Animal micro-chips are about the size of a grain of rice and are typically implanted just beneath the surface of the skin between the shoulder blades. The process is similar to receiving vaccination through a needle and is painless to pets. Most animals don’t even react when the microchip is implanted. Once implanted the micro-chip remains between the shoulder blades just beneath the skin for the rest of the animal’s lifetime, becoming a permanent form of identification.

Misconceptions.

Micro-chips do not function as a GPS.  If the pet is lost, we cannot locate him.  But if your pet is found and taken to a shelter, rescue or vet’s office, they can be scanned to find the chip.  The chip is unique and is “owned” by only one pet.  The chip is registered to one pet and one owner.  If a lost pet is found and turned in to a shelter or taken to a vet and scanned for a chip, there is a better chance of the pet being reunited with the owner.  Owner information is maintained so that the pet can safely be returned.  It is very important to keep the owner information current at all times.  Disconnected phone numbers and old addresses hinder the return process.

If you find a stray animal, please have then scanned for a micro-chip.  This is the quickest way of getting the pet back to his home.

Educated or literate parents always try to create a supportive environment in the home. Because if the environment of the home is not supportive then the children will not be able to concentrate on studies.

Their compassionate and well trained staff of Cannabis and Marijuana Rehab Services. My family and I would proudly recommend them to anyone. I'm not sure exactly how they did it but they really helped my brother turn his life around after so many others couldn't. My younger brother has been suffering with major depression for years and my parents had tried just about everything - they were on the verge of giving up.
